Prepress Software :: RE: Indesign: Any way for crop marks to print only black?
Hmm, I feel your pain, had same issue on my HP Indigo Clicks. Only solution we found was to go ahead to pdf, use PitStop to convert the black only page, then go. There are so many docs that are SUPPOSED to black only but contain RGB black, thus will go 4cp. It's because of that why i decided to simplyt use Pitstop and check/convert every black page to be sure it's all done. If crops are in the PDF, bam, they are now black only too. Prepress Software :: RE: Way to export multipage ID doc into single pages?
Over on Adobe's forums there is a pretty long thread about this issue: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b57c28 It looks likes some people posted a script or two but there might be bugs in them. If you only need to export PDFs or EPSs you could use Page Exporter Utility 5 Script, it works nicely. http://indesignsecrets.com/page-exporter-utility-peu-5-script-updated-for-cs3.php Just curious, are you wanting to export single pages so different people could work on different sections of the file? If so you might look into using VersionCue, I've never used it, never seemed to have a reason to, but it might... - Read More at This Link..

Digital Printing Forum :: RE: PDF Printing Issue
Digital Printing Forum :: RE: PDF Printing Issue
As a last-ditch resort, if you have no qualms about converting text to outlines, etc., take the file with conversions done and open in Illustrator, re-save as Illus .eps, and placed in InDesign to output or distill directly. If it still acts odd, down-save the Illus .eps to Postscript Level 2, and repeat. I have had Nexus and Rampage both error until I used Illus on .eps files and either placed-printed/exported, or directly RIPed the simplified file. My only issues ever was the possibility of losin transparency that comes over in Level 3. _ Although I have over 20 years exp. in sys... - Read More at This Link..

Prepress Software :: grayscaling small areas
Prepress Software :: grayscaling small areas
We get a lot of files which occasionally have small areas of 4 color black type and we generally have to either 1) call the customer up and request a new PDF (time-consuming) 2) mask out the 4 colour black text in inDesign and overlay a greyscale version of just the affected area (EXTREMELY time consuming) 3) or most often we just run as-is which looks like dung and sometimes leads to complaints so is there a tool out there that can resolve these problem areas? any quick and dirty work-arounds? - Read More at This Link..

Graphic Design Forum :: RE: Cut & paste from Illustrator to InDesign
Kind of along the same lines, I have seen issues with copy and paste from one indesign doc to another... the new doc would not separate properly. But if you "drag" the contents from one doc to the other it is fine. I have a suspicion it had something to do with the clipboard, we've learned our lesson though and I never copy and paste from one doc to another (unless of course it's just plain text) IMHO B - Read More at This Link..
