Prepress Software :: RE: Trapping Problems
Beermonster: Questions, please about your reply. I will appreciate a detailed description of how to make the trapping happen when You wrote "and when you output tell it to use indesign built in trapping - wallop - your file is trapped. " 1) What do you mean by "when you output"? Print? Export? Save As? Other? 2) What are the ways one can output from ID that will cause trapping? 3) Does "tell it" mean "tell ID"? Or does it mean "tell the Rip"? 4) Can the resulting file be a PDF? Other formats? 5) Bottom line: I want to "intercept" the trapped file, open it, and view the traps. If needed, I can open it ... - Read More at This Link..

Desktop Publishing :: Need help creating a magazine spine

Desktop Publishing :: Need help creating a magazine spine
Hello, I am not a press operator/production artist, but a designer and I hope I've come to the right place for assistance. I must create a spine for a magazine (using Indesign). I've never done this and the printer is not my printer and is not returning phone calls to me or the client (an issue to be handled by them). So while I wait until this communication issue is resolved.... how do I create this spine? Let's say I have 22 pages, do I build it off in the bleed portion of the first page? Do I create a separate page for it? Do I create a separate file for it? ... - Read More at This Link..

Mac OS X Forum :: extra ppds in InDesign
When trying to print a postscript file in InDesign, I choose PostScript File from the Printer drop down menu. In the PPD drop down menu, there is like a thousand options. How do I delete all the ppds that I do not need. I looked in the printer folder inside the library and the only ppds that are there are the ones that I installed. - Read More at This Link..

Prepress Software :: Print files into/onto PDF template for proofing

Prepress Software :: Print files into/onto PDF template for proofing
Hi, I am hoping someone may be able to help. I am wanting to set up several PDF templates that will range from A4 -SRA3. these PDF templates will be Proof Approval Templates. I then want to be able to send artwork to print from say InDesign but I want it to print into the PDF template. Hope that makes sense. I would then end up with say a compliment slip artwork centred onto the Proof template enabling me to send out the proof. How do I go about this or is it not something that can easily be done? Many thanks in advance. Jon - Read More at This Link..
